Packers 2018 Draft Picks Questionable?

The Green Bay Packers 2018 draft picks were interesting to me. Earlier I mentioned how much I wanted Josh Jackson from Iowa to be a Packer. We got him! Why he was available in the second round is beyond me. Evidentaly, they thought higher of Jaire Alexander than of Josh. I don’t know much about Alexander, but I saw Jackson every Saturday because my wife is a Hawkeye fan. Who couldn’t be, with the heart wrenching tribute to the children’s hospital during home games. We should get much needed help in the secondary. Tramon Williams is back and can show them a few things. Ha Ha is getting better and better. Still a little ticked that Sam Shields didn’t come back to the Pack. Loved to watch him play. I’m hoping Vince Biegel stays healthy and plays alongside Clay Matthews and Nick Perry. All this help won’t matter if they can’t mount a pass rush. No cover man can sustain coverage for 6 seconds and even a mediocre NFL quarterback can complete a pass with protection for that long. Mike Daniels can put the pressure on as well as Dean Lowry, but can anyone else? Clay played injured a lot and needs to stay healthy and get back to form. Remember, defense wins championships, and Green Bay is lagging behind many strong defenses. Like the Vikings. On offense, I wonder why so many wide recivers were picked. Jordy was let go, and he was one of the best. Money reasons? Davante Adams is becoming great and Randall Cobb hasn’t been able to stay on the field. He has yet to be the impact that’s been predicted. Geronimo Allison is someone I love to watch. Maybe a starter? Three rookie wide receivers seems a little much. Couldn’t they find a pass rusher? Or running back? I was hoping Sony Michel would be available. It’s yet to be seen just how good Ty Montgomery is. Jamaal Williams is an above average back and fun to watch. Aaron Jones? Hopefully Ty can stay healthy this season. Thank you God for Jimmy Graham! Maybe that addition will help Lance Kendricks be better than last year. We also need a decent backup signal caller. The other Brett just isn’t the answer should St. Aaron goes down. Should be an interesting year in Lambeauland. Hopefully, the majority of the players can stay healthy unlike last year. Should you-know-who go down, it will be another disappointing year.

NFL Draft Day!!!

The 2018 NFL Draft is happening this weekend!!! One of the most anxious days of the year! How will my team improve? More importantly, how will my wife’s team improve so it will be a happy household lol. Will there be a massive trade? Who’s testing the free agent market and who will be drafted to replace them? Many questions and we unpatiently wait for the answers. The Packers are my team and their were no playoff games for the first time in many years. Of course, when Aaron Rodgers goes down, so does the Pack. When Green Bay drafted Brett Hundley a few years ago to apprentice under Aaron, I remember saying “Who?”. I didn’t feel he was the answer and last year’s showing when Mr. Rodgers went down proved me right. Thanks Brett. You will never be Brett 2.0 or anything close. We need a promising backup and soon. Aaron is getting any younger and if he gets injured… Hopefully he can last as long as Tom Terrific. Maybe another Super Bowl or two. That would be… well SUPER!!! It appears there will be no Dez Bryant in Packerland. I was hoping they could re-sign Jordy at a lesser salary. Personally, I would prefer Jordy. Bryant is too much of a diva for Lombardiland. Hopefully Vince Biegel will be healthy and be able to compliment Nick Perry and Clay Matthews. He was a wrecking ball at Wisconsin.  In the secondary, I hope they can get the cornerback from Iowa whose name I can’t ever remember even though I watched him play several games. My wife is a Hawkeye fan so I have to watch them. Boy they destroyed Ohio State! I believe his name is Josh Jackson. He intercepted 3 passes and returned two foe TD’s against the Badgers. Hopefully Lance Kendricks can return to form. Adding Jimmy Graham has to help. I wanted the Pack to latch onto him when he was a free agent from the Saints. Better late than never. Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb need to stay healthy. If they need to trade up to get a running back, I wouldn’t be disappointed. We have 14 picks. All in all, the Packers are a young team with a promising season ahead and could take it all. Please God, keep Aaron upright. A report on my wife’s team, the Denver Broncos will be coming.

Praying to St. Aaron

Losing Aaron Rodgers put the Green Bay Packers in the position of not making the playoffs for the first time in… a long time. Brett Hundley turned the team into the Cardiac Pack. Engineering a couple of come back wins in overtime and almost taking down the mighty Steelers. But he isn’t the answer at quarterback-maybe ever should Mr. Rodgers retire. Welcome back St. Aaron. The Pack needs several Hail Marys in order to make the playoffs now. They need to win all three games with a rusty Aaron Rodgers and hope a lot of teams in front of them to lose. Impossible? No. But miracles happen and if it’s meant to be it will happen. It will take lots of hope, faith, prayers and a miracle or three. Start praying to St. Aaron.
